What makes us different is we sell only kiln dried firewood and we sell it year round made from New England hardwoods nothing else. We store it indoors in a heated garage, we deliver it, we stack it for you, we give you the correct amount and the wood consistently burns well.

We baby our firewood. Since the wood has been split our wood is stored on a paved surface so it is free from almost all mud and dirt when you receive it ready to burn.

Our kiln dried wood burns consistently because the moisture content has been brought down to a point where the wood burns well. The fire is not working to dry the wood at the same time it is burning. When you are ready to relax and have a warm romantic fire you want it to start easily and burn consistently without a lot of work. Because it is dry hardwoods this kiln-dried wood lights easier than “seasoned” wood, has no bugs in it and will burn with a nice bright flame.

What sets us apart is we are a quality wood supplier that also provides the service of delivering and stacking the wood. We do not stop at the curb by just dumping a pile of wood that you have to move. We deliver the wood and stack it. The first floor inside delivery is included. We go farther like upstairs or down to the basement or up and elevator just let us know since we may need more people. This channel is to show how we get the wood. Description of the common firewood units of sale and their measurements are discussed. What is face cord or a bush cord? Often you will hear people mention a “cord” of wood, but sometimes people confuse the two terms. Firewood can’t be measured by weight because there are a few variables that make weight distribution uneven. Those factors are moisture content, species and the density of each log, which will be typically heavier if the log is knotty or has grown thick in a crease in the form of the tree. Because of this, firewood is measured in volume, cubic feet to be exact.

Standard length of a firewood log is 16 inches, this is what will be used to describe both face cord and a full cord/ bush cord measurements.

A full cord or a bush cord is a tightly cropped stack of firewood measuring 4 feet wide, 4 feet high and 8 feet long, with a calculated volume of 128 cubic feet.

A face cord is one-third of a bush cord: there are 3 rows of 16 inch logs in a bush cord, therefore there are three face cords in a bush cord. A face cord measures in volume to 42.66 cubic feet.

I also discuss how much firewood you will need, whether you are a rare user or you heat your home or space with firewood.
