Multi-read content why are there gnats around my plants

As plant lovers, we never want to see them attacked by pests. But above all, we don’t want to see pests in our houseplants, because that causes problems in our house – too bad! Rodents are small, winged mosquito-like creatures (don’t worry, they don’t bite!) and about the same size as fruit flies. The good news is that these plant flies are much less commonharmfulthan many other pests and best of all, they are quite easy to eliminate.

What is midge fungus?

If you see a small, winged insect that looks like a fruit fly flying around the soil of your houseplant, it is most likely a fungus. They have long legs (for a microscopic fly), transparent wings, and are suitable for moist, nutrient-rich soils. Rodent fungi pay very little attention to your leaves, concentrating instead on the moist soil under the canopy. They lay eggs in the top layer of moist soil and feed on the hairy roots of your plants. Although their damage may be minimal, there’s nothing scarier than an uninvited guest laying eggs on your favorite plant and eating its roots! If left untreated, these insects can eventually lead to wilted leaves, poor growth, and discoloration.
