Multi-read content how to get dry water spots off car

How-To Remove Water Spots & Cement SplatterRemoving water stains is not difficult. There are professional techniques that can be done at home. The process is really super easy!

Did you know that the same water you use to wash your car can damage your paint?

Some people find this surprising, but it’s true!

When water evaporates from your car’s paint, it leaves behind trace minerals (which create stains and other damage). Calcium and metals in tap water are particularly harmful.

Even rainwater can contain toxic elements, but the acids of all kinds of air pollutants are really harmful!

Sprinklers doused this car with hard water and let it dry in the sun for a few days. The dirt hardens. Vinegar will remove stains from aluminum bumpers, plastic taillights and rubber trim.

The good news is that watering holes are easy to get rid of (if you chase them).

A common sense solution is afast detailed sprayafter normal washing. It is prevention.

Of course, you will sometimes notice spots later (ie when your neighbor’s sprinkler is helping you).

No matter what, never give water spots enough time to dry and bake again. Treat it as soon as possible.

Left unchecked, these imperfections will stick and harden onto your paintwork. At this point you will need to use a mild acid to loosen them. Avoid this as much as possible.

Do not worry.

It won’t be the end of the world if your car has bad water spots.

And, believe it or not, the best acids are also the cheapest and most readily available:

A liter of distilled white vinegar.

Autodetect experts have known this secret for years.

Serious! Take your car to a pro shop and you’ll be charged for the pleasure of smelling like a pickle.

Save your money. Put on your gloves and get started.

Here’s how!

Removing Water Stains With Vinegar – The Easiest Way

First, wash it with your usual car shampoo. Rinse, then use distilled vinegar.

This will give your car a magic acid bath. Simply wipe it with a sponge and scrub it.

Pro Tip:Do only one game at a time. Let stand 30 to 60 seconds. Then wash it off.

When you’re done showering, wash your car with shampoo. Then rinse again.

There is a downside to this technique…

The vinegar will remove your wax stains. Get ready to wax your car again after the vinegar treatment.

Removing Cement Splatter from Your CarCement splatters are also easy to remove. Use distilled white vinegar.

Simultaneously removes cement spatter

Not too long ago I received a letter from a couple in Michigan thanking me for saving them almost $3,000.

The woman explained how she had parked her husband’s car near a construction site and was splattered with cement. To make matters worse, the cement stain wasn’t noticed until 2 days later.

She took the car with an estimate: $2,700 hard-earned to get it right.

Friends, this is not a rare story!

As a friend of mine once said, “When all you have is a hammer, everything is like a nail.”

Are insurance companies and paint/repair shops intentionally creating unnecessary work? I do not know.

What I know is:

The answer to most hard water stains is distilled white vinegar. And yes, it also works for small cement stains!

Proven Vinegar Solution – Works Every Time

Here is the history of this technique…

I actually learned this little trick from an old man who taught me how to plaster walls.

Every day I watch him wash his hands with a jar of vinegar.

I thought he was weird. It wasn’t until my hands became chapped and dry that they started cracking.

But guess what!

Vinegar has an immediate analgesic effect. It also gives your car instant relief.

The solution is very simple.

Pour vinegar into a small bucket and use it to soak a clean sponge. A grout sponge from the hardware store works best.

Place the sponge over the cement splatter.

ALERT!Don’t wipe!

All you want to do is soak the cement stain with vinegar. Leave the sponge on the stain for 2-3 minutes for the vinegar to do its job.

Then you simply rinse the area with clean water. Repeat as needed.

Treat paint stains and stains

Minerals will corrode paintwork if water or cement stains remain on your car for more than a few days.

Yes, using vinegar will remove stains. But the paint may damage the mark (bump).

The only way to fix this common problem is to polish the paint.

And the best way to handle this is to use a good dual action car polisher (likeCable Porter 7424XP).

A good polishing system is essential

You can polish by hand, but you won’t be able to remove the marks.

Take it from me. I’m finished.

Get the job done right and get a dual action car polisher.

But you also need a foam cutting pad, a foam polishing pad andMeguiar’s Last Compound.

Do you still think you can be cheap and do the job by hand?

Believe me, you can’t.

You will rub and rub, and there will be no dents in the engravings. The reason is that modern paint is too harsh.

Your best bet is to invest in a good car polishing system.

There are actually a few brands worth considering.Griot Garage Polisher KitandPorter Cable Polisherare two of the best in my book.

Alternatively, you can hire a professional aesthetics specialist. Expensive! Why not save some money and do it yourself.

The next step!

Water spot damage begins as droplets of water land on paintwork and other automotive surfaces. As the water evaporates, all the minerals inside the droplet are left behind as a stain on the surface. If caught soon enough, these minerals can be simply wiped away during a car wash or with a quick detail spray. If left overnight, the spot may stick harder, but they can typically be removed with a clay bar. Beyond this level of contamination, water spots can etch deeper into the surface and cause permanent damage that may require polishing, wet sanding, and even repainting.

Always start with the less aggressive method first. Do a test spot, look at the results and see if you need to move to a more aggressive method.

1. Vinegar bath.

2. Clay bar treatment.

3. Paint correction. Watch my paint polishing tutorial here:

Whatever the scenario, don’t leave water spots unattended for too long. The longer they bake onto the surface, the harder they will be to remove.

Pro tips to prevent water spots:

1) Don’t wash your car in direct sunlight or heavy heat. After washing your car, make sure you dry it as quickly as possible using a microfiber drying towel

2) Use a quick detail spray as a drying aid. This helps add lubrication during the drying but also helps lift any minerals left behind with the water.

3) Go the extra mile by using a car dryer to blow water from window seals, door jams, door sills, mirrors and grilles. This will reduce water drips.

4) Avoid parking near sprinkler systems. Also, test the water hardness levels in your home. You might want to invest in a water softener or water deionizer system. Watch my video:

5) Apply paint protection to your paintwork. A wax, a paint sealant or a ceramic coating will greatly reduce the chances of developing water spots due to the hydrophobic properties of that protection. The protection will repel water and prevent it from sticking to the paint.
