Ever wonder how to Fix Broken, Cracked or Curved Glass?

Do you want to know how to fix broken, cracked or curved glass? In today’s instructional video, I have two new products to test for repairing broken glass. This is an experiment for me because I’m looking for a neat repair for a piece of broken curved glass. Broken curved glass is very expensive to replace. In many cases, the glass panel exceeds the cost of the entire furniture cabinet. My curio cabinet is no exception. I’m hoping for a repair that doesn’t call attention to the repair. Maybe my experiment will exceed my expectation.

Save a LOT of $$$

I like my curio cabinet. It serves a nice purpose in my upstairs hallway and holds a lot of memorabilia. I hate the thought of trashing it just because it has a broken pane of glass. There are many products that repair glass but which one does the best job at making a discreet repair? The problem that I foresee is light reflecting on the broken edge. My chemist nephew tells me that if I know the compounds used in the glass, then I can make an invisible repair. Honestly, that’s not going to happen because the manufacturer of the curio is out of business. Such is the case with many antiques as well.

I’ll teach you how to fix broken, cracked or curved glass!

My glass repair technique will fix the break but will it fix the appearance too? If this works, I can think of many practical uses for the products that I’m trying: Clear Gorilla Glue and a DIY Windshield Repair Kit. Which product do I like best? Is resin even adhesive? Are they good enough to use alone or do I need to combine them for better results? Give this video a view and see for yourself! You don’t need any special tools. All you need is a sunny day, warm weather and this materials list. Let’s see how to fix broken or cracked glass…The DIY site that teaches you how to create and succeed with all projects around the home. www.reneeromeo.com

Here I demonstrate how I recycle old broken glassware by repairing it with epoxy and removing excess residue with acetone. Please be careful as broken glass is sharp, and acetone vapours are dangerous to inhale and are also flammable. Fire safety protocalls must be in place and I am not responsible for any injuries others have if they attempt this project.
