Multi-read content what is a beater bar in a vacuum

theEPA RRPrequire contractors to useHEPA filter vacuum cleanerequipped with a carpet beater when working in a carpeted work area. So, one of the most common questions we get when looking at RRP is “what is a carpet cleaner?”

The carpet beater is basically a floor nozzle for the vacuum cleaner equipped with a rotating beater bar that can rotate while the vacuum cleaner is in use. As it spins, it heats the carpet and removes lead dust that may be trapped in the carpet fibers.

Nilfisk offers 2 versions of the carpet cleaner for use with our HEPA filter vacuum cleaners, the Turbo Nozzle and the Electric Nozzle.

Turbo Nozzle’s Carpet Beater is powered by working air from the vacuum cleaner. This means that air is introduced into the vacuum through the vacuum hose, which spins the carpet machine. The turbo nozzle is available on a number of Nilfisk HEPA filter hoods, includingUZ 934, UZ 964, GD 930, Eliminator I, Eliminator II and 118. (Part numbers vary, contact our customer service for more information!)

The electric nozzle is very similar, except that it plugs into the vacuum cleaner and runs on electricity. The electric nozzle is only available on GD 930 and GM 80.

So, despite the differences, the Turbo Nozzle and Power Nozzle, when used with a vacuum with a HEPA filter, are extremely effective at deep cleaning the work area…and lead RRP requirements. Do you still have questions? Ask us!
