Multi-read content how to use a plumbing snake toilet

We rarely think about the toilet until something goes wrong. When our toilets malfunction or are clogged, it can cause many minor annoyances, especially if we don’t have a plunger. Remember that a very clogged toilet can completely disrupt your family.

While unclogging is often as simple as unclogging a drain, you may need to run a drill through your plumbing.

Also, some blockages may be deep in the pipeline or difficult to remove which you needPlumbing service in Pompano.. Fortunately, these tips will help you unclog your toilet.

Diver

Although this tool may seem basic, it is still the best way to unclog a toilet. We recommend this tool to all households and preferably to flanged ones as they work best for unclogging toilets.

When using this tool, you need to place the plunger in the toilet bowl and press down gently. The first push is simply pulling the air out. Be careful not to push hard, otherwise; you can pour dirty water on yourself.

Once you have a good seal, pump the plunger with force while maintaining the seal. Finally, pull the tool sharply upward while breaking the air seal. You will notice water rushing down the drain. If this still does not remove the blockage, repeat the steps until the blockage loosens.

Vinegar and baking soda

When your toilet isn’t working and you don’t have a plunger, you can use non-toxic household cleaners: vinegar and baking soda. You probably know that vinegar and baking soda are excellent for cleaning many surfaces, work as excellent deodorizers, and are very helpful in keeping our drainage systems running smoothly.

However, these household cleaners also work when you need to fix a clogged toilet if you don’t have a plunger. We recommend adding a cup of baking soda to your clogged toilet and waiting a few minutes. Then, slowly pour two cups of vinegar into the toilet bowl.

Vinegar and baking soda often react to form bubbles, so be sure to pour them carefully and slowly to avoid overflowing or splashing. Let the baking soda and vinegar mixture sit for a few minutes.

You will need to flush the toilet to determine if the blockage is gone. You may need to repeat this process until the blockage clears. The blockage will clear when your toilet makes a rapid suction sound and drains naturally afterwards.

Hot water and washing up liquid

Heat a liter of hot water on the stove and pour dish soap down the toilet while the water is heating. When the water is extremely hot but not boiling, pour it carefully into the toilet bowl. Wait 10-15 minutes while the dish soap and hot water soften the clog.

Once you do, the toilet will flush and flush freely. Alternatively, you can use hot water and shampoo from the sink if you want to unclog the toilet without leaving the bathroom.

Snake

For around $25 you can buy a toilet snake. You only have to buy it once and you won’t use any chemicals. You can put the device on at hand and then roll it up until the blockage is released. Although it can be a little messy, it’s best to use your hands. This method is especially beneficial when the blockage is deeper than the bowl itself.

If that doesn’t work, try again and contactcertified plumber. Do not use a coat hanger as a replacement as it may scratch the porcelain surface of the toilet bowl.

household bleach

Similar to soap, bleach helps break down waste. The process is similar to that involving dish soap. Simply replace solid or liquid dish soap with 2-3 cups of bleach. After a minute or two, pour in a cup of powdered soap. Wait 10-15 minutes and flush the toilet. You will find this method more effective for very clogged toilets.

Contact a plumber

Although it’s simple, it’s probably the easiest and most reliable way to unclog a stubborn toilet. The best thing about recruitingPlumbers at Pompano Beachis that we have everything we ask for to solve even the worst bottlenecks. Plus, we’re more affordable than you think and we’ll get it done in no time.

Most of us havedeal with clogged toiletsat some point and while it’s easy to assume that a plunger will do, you probably don’t have one right now. Therefore, it is important that you take other steps to unclog your toilet. If you’re not sure where to start, consider these tips.

What does a auger look like?

auger, tool (or bit) used with a carpenter’s brace for drilling holes in wood. It looks like a corkscrew and has six parts: screw, spurs, cutting edges, twist, shank, and tang. The screw looks like a tapered wood screw and is short and small in diameter; it centres the bit and draws it into the work.

What happens if a toilet auger doesn’t work?

You need to make sure that you’ve securely tightened thumbscrew(the piece that secures the cable inside the drum or handle). If the thumbscrew is loose, the cable will not rotate at all when you twist the handle. The cable rotation is how the drain snake picks up debris, so if it can’t do this, your auger won’t work.

When should I call a plumber for a clogged toilet?

If you have tried corrosive chemicals to remove the clog and it didn’t work, it’s also time to call a plumber for your clogged toilet. Those caustic chemicals can damage your toilet or pipes if they are continually exposed to them.

Will Coca Cola unclog a toilet?

Pour a 2-liter bottle of cola — Pepsi, Coke, or generic brand substitutes — down the clogged drain. Coke is actually quite caustic and effective at clearing away buildup in your drains, but it’s far milder than commercial drain cleaners.

How to Snake a Toilet: Clear a Toilet Clog

Even I can do it!

I show you a step-by-step way to use an auger to clear a clogged toilet! (Too many videos assumed I was stronger than I am, so I figured out how to snake a toilet and then recorded how to do it.)

Make sure you DON’T use chemicals before using the auger/snake. If you put a chemical into the toilet, using the auger after that can make the chemical splash back on you and will get the chemical on the auger.

Try the auger/snake before trying other methods. A lot of people who’ve watched this video have written a comment saying it worked! It cleared and the toilet flushes as it should.

Plumbers Snake

Diagnostic

In some circumstances when a toilet plunger cannot dislodge blockage and clear the toilet’s u-trap another option is to use an auger, or what is sometimes referred to as a plumber’s snake. Unlike a toilet plunger, which forces water through the u-trap of the toilet, an auger extends a spring coil through the entire u-trap of the toilet up to about 3 feet. A length that usually pushes through any blockage in caught the toilet. Remember at 3 feet an auger is only used to clear the obstructions in the toilet itself and cannot reach the sewer line. If the toilet is clear and the blockage is located in the sewer line then a professional plumber will need to snake the line.

Tools Needed

Augers are available at most hardware stores and home improvement centers.

Making the Repair

To begin, extend the crank handle of the auger, retracting the coils into the shaft. Then insert the coil head into the toilet bowl with the coils in the drain. Once positioned crank and pull the handle toward the shaft of the auger, which will extend the coil head into the toilet’s u-trap. Crank the handle through any blocked spots, until the auger is fully extended. There may be some difficult spots, though once the blockage is free water should begin to drain from the bowel. Once water begins to drain freely reverse the crank handle retracting the coil head back into the auger body and flush the toilet. The toilet should cycle completed after the first attempt although in some circumstances this process may need to be repeated 2 or 3 times for the toilet to clear.
