Have you ever put on a shirt and after just an hour or two you think, “Do I smell?”

It could be your deodorant failing you, but it also could be lingering odor in your clothing.

The waxes and oils found in antiperspirants, natural deodorants and fabric softeners melt into fabrics and are tough to wash out. This allows bacteria and BO to stick around in your clothing wash after wash after wash.

You won’t have to worry about that anymore because Lume is water based and washes cleanly out of clothing! But until your Lume arrives, it’s a good idea to pre-treat the clothing that was betrayed by past antiperspirants and deodorants.

Lume is a natural deodorant for underarms and private parts that’s clinically proven to last up to 72 hours. It’s made without aluminum, baking soda, or fragrance oils so it’s safe for even the most sensitive skin. Vegan and cruelty free.

Full transcript:

Hey everybody. I’m Doctor Shannon Klingman and today we’re gonna be talking about a part of getting started called prepping your clothes.

Why in the heck do you need to prep your clothes?

I bet you’ve never heard any other deodorant company say anything like that before and the reason is because manmade fabrics bind with waxy and aluminum-based products that you’ve used before Lume and the BO actually binds in there.

It melts into the fabric when you wash and dry it and it’s really tough to get out, but most fabrics are not a lost cause unless they’re stained and kinda crusty.

Those you just need to get rid of, but on your day to day wear, if it contains polyester, lyrca, more fitted type clothing or exercise type clothing, you’re gonna wanna prep your pits with a product like Nature’s Miracle.

Nature’s Miracle has enzymes in it that breaks down fats and proteins and so you’ll find it in the pet area of your convenience store and I leave a bottle of it right next to my hamper in my bathroom. Whenever I take a top off, I spray the pits with this, turn it inside out just like this, give the pits one or two sprays on both sides, do it on both pits and then just toss it in your hamper. It’s fine to just sit there.

The reason we recommend that you do this is because the products that are wax and oil based or heavily scented with fragrance oils are gonna fool you into thinking that Lume is less effective. Because they’re not water based, they don’t wash completely out of clothing, but you’ll find that once you start using Lume, because it’s water based, those BO residual scents that you might notice from time to time in exercise type clothing will wash right out and you’re starting over with a clean garment without any BO residue left behind.
