Multi-read content how to know if money is fake with marker

While a counterfeit UV lamp and a counterfeit pen are useful tools, there are other ways to tell if a note is genuine or fake. The physical characteristics of a banknote, such as ink, watermark and text, are purported security measures to help people recognize real money.

When retail partners learn to spot counterfeit $100 bills, they can help reduce the risk of businesses losing thousands of dollars. Here is a list of eight ways to tell if an invoice is true or false:

1. Color changing ink
One of the first things to check to see if a ticket is real is if the face value in the lower right corner has colored ink. In 1996, all bills of $5 or more had this security feature. If you hold a new serial note (except the new $5 note) and tilt it back and forth, you can see the numbers in the bottom right corner change from green to black or yellow at the Green light.

2. Watermark
Watermarks are a typical security feature of real banknotes. Many new banknotes use a watermark which is actually a copy of the face on the banknote. On other notes, it’s just an oval spot. Here are a few things to keep in mind when viewing invoice watermarks:
• The watermark is only visible when you hold the note up to the light.
• The watermark must be on the right side of the invoice.
• If the watermark is a face, it must match the face on the ticket exactly. Sometimes counterfeiters launder the lower banknotes and reprint them with a higher denomination, in which case the front of the banknote will not match the watermark.
• If there is no watermark or if the watermark is visible without the light showing, the invoice is most likely a fake.

3. Blurred border, print or text
An automatic red flag for fake invoices is that the borders, printing or text of the invoice are noticeably blurry. Genuine banknotes are created using die-cut printing plates that create dramatic lines, so they look incredibly detailed. Dummy printers often don’t have the same level of detail. Look carefully, especially around the edges, to see if there are any blurry parts of the note. Real banknotes also have micro-printing or finely printed text in various places on the note. If the microprint is illegible even under a magnifying glass, it is probably a fake.

4. Increase in impression
All real banknotes are embossed, making it difficult for counterfeiters to reproduce. To detect embossed printing, carefully run your fingernails along the banknote. You should feel a slight vibration on your nails from the ridges of the raised print. If you don’t feel this texture, you should check the bill more.

5. Safety chain with micro-printing
Indicates that a thin inlaid band runs from top to bottom across the face of the note. On $10 and $50 bills, the security stripe is to the right of the portrait, and on $5, $20, and $100 bills, it is directly to the left.

Authenticated invoices have vi in the security chain as another layer of security. Here is a list of phrases printed under a microscope on genuine banknotes:
• The $5 bill reads “USA FIVE”
• The 10 dollar note reads “USA TEN”
• A $20 bill labeled “USA TWENTY”
• The $50 note reads “US$50”.
• The 100 dollar note reads “100 US dollars”.

6. Ultraviolet rays
Counterfeit detection tools and technologies use ultraviolet light because it is a clear way to distinguish if an invoice is counterfeit. The security thread on the authentic receipt shines UV with the following colors:
• The 5 dollar bill glows blue
• The 10 dollar bill lights up orange
• The 20 dollar bill lights up green
• The $50 bill lights up yellow
• $100 bill lights up red/pink

7. Red and blue theme
If you look closely at a real banknote, you can see that there are very small blue and red threads woven into the fabric of the banknote. Although counterfeit printers try to reproduce this effect by printing a pattern of red and blue threads on the counterfeit note, if you can see that the printing is only at surface level, it is likely that the note will be printed. .

8. Serial number
The last thing to check on an invoice is the serial number. The letter that begins the serial number of the invoice corresponds to a specific year, so if this letter does not correspond to the year printed on the invoice, it is a fake. Here is a list of inter-year correspondence:
• E = 2004
• G = 2004A
• I = 2006
• D = 2009
• L = 2009A

These security measures are designed not only to prevent criminals from trying to counterfeit money, but also to help individuals and businesses recognize counterfeit money when they see it. If you even see an error that could mean an invoice is falsified, you shouldReport it to the U.S. Money Education Programto protect against liability for loss and to notify the Federal Reserve of counterfeit notes in circulation.

All you need to do is look for the color of the pen to either be gold or black. Black means it is not a genuine currency paper, and if it stays gold, that means it is a real currency paper. Keep in mind even if the paper tests good, it could still possibly be a counterfeit note, so make sure to double check with other built in security features, that are specific to the actual denomination that is in question.
