Newsflash: Fall is the new spring—at least when it comes to planting spring bulbs.

Here’s the thing. If you want to enjoy tulips, daffodils, hyacinths, and other flowering bulbs in your garden next spring, then they need to be planted this fall. The best time to plant spring bulbs is 6 to 8 weeks before the ground freezes. If you’re not sure when your ground typically freezes, check your hardiness zone to get a good estimate.

Gardening in grow zone 5 in early spring with a raised bed hoop house.
