What is the difference between aluminum and steel soft metal conduit?

Steel is heavier and more expensive than aluminum. Iron is solid and impervious to violence. Due to its lighter weight, ease of installation and low cost, you can choose aluminum as your metal conduit. On the other hand, ducts have an advantage over PVC in that they can also be used as a base.

Metallic conduit is the cabling system that provides the most mechanical support for enclosed conductors due to their wall thickness and strength. NEC recognizes properly installed metal conduit equipment as a grounding conductor, which is an added benefit of using conduit. Steel conduit is used for two main purposes.

It provides the best possible protection for your electrical conductors and wiring, and simplifies the insertion and removal of conductors and wires. You can use Conduit in almost any application that requires conduit and wiring.

Whenever you consider the properties of aluminum, you will also be aware of the benefits of aluminum products, especially from a metal conduit perspective. Extrusion and welding by qualified and competent facilities will reduce the cost of extruded aluminum tubing for residential and commercial applications.

You can use aluminum coating solutions to enhance some of the natural properties of aluminum, making it even more desirable.

When to use steel conduit for flexible conduit?

Analyzing your wiring situation will help you decide whether to use flexible conduit or rigid conduit. Soft metal conduit is typically found in lengths ranging from 12 to 34 inches, with diameters ranging from 3/8 to 4 inches. It is often used in places where it is difficult to install rigid conduit due to the flexibility of flexible conduit.

What is the largest size of flexible duct?

The flexible conduit is available in different sizes, from 1/4′′ to 2′′. The size of flexible metal conduit may vary depending on the outside and inside diameter. The top diameter of flexible metal conduit can be up to 4 inches. Only 6 feet of flexible metal pipe can be used for grounding. The maximum length to run flexible metal conduit for a separate grounding conductor is over 6 feet.
