I wanted to design a bench that was easy to build, but also easy to customize.

Using common building materials, each frame section is constructed from one pressure treated 2×4, with repeatable angled cuts making it easy to scale up production of extra frame sub-assemblies. The seating surface is constructed from simple 5/4 deck boards with straight cuts.

The modular design lends itself to a number of configurations, so by assembling additional frame sections, you’re able to build whatever fits for your application.

Five 10ft 5/4 deck boards \u0026 five 8ft 2×4’s will yield two sturdy outdoor benches… not too shabby.
