Learn how to make your own hand-drawn Christmas ornaments with this easy, fun, and colorful method! These are pretty simple for kids to draw and fun for adults too.
Hey, hey guys! If you saw my post earlier in the week when I shared these DIY Christmas ornaments, you know that a while ago I found some cheap plastic ornaments at 70% off the already low price. and I bought them. At this point, I really don’t know what to do with them. But it’s too good a deal to pass up.
Then I remembered that I wanted to try some brushstrokes, as I felt that was a technique I could do without any painting or art skills. So I bought colored acrylic paint just in case I decided to buy it.
The next day my daughters and I started drawing decorations to try and do something fun that didn’t involve being outside in the cold or watching TV. I love these decorations just as much as the others I’ve shared recently! And I could love them even more. However, my family loves them. Different moves for different people, right? !

these are the ones we used
Acrylic paint in the color of your choice (we used
in a variety of different colors)
Small artist brushes (any quality will do – they don’t have to be special)
1) Remove the top ornament hangerplastic ornamentsand set it aside.
2) Squeeze out some of your dropsacrylic painton a paper plate.
3) Pick a color and paint random brush strokes all over the outside of your ornament. Let the paint dry. I put our decorations upside down on a paper plate to paint them and let them dry without staining any paint.
4) Repeat with as many other colors as desired, allowing each color to dry before starting with another.
5) Continue until your ornament is almost completely traced. I missed a few obvious facts, but not a lot. How much space you leave between colors is up to you!
6) Once you are done painting and all the paint is dry, replace the ornament hangers.
That’s it! It’s like a party of colors on an ornament! I’m absolutely thrilled with how things are turning out. What do you think?
