How to clean a mud stain on a white sweater or t-shirt – we tested 3 methods and one came out the clear winner! Over a year later and my daughter still wore this sweater, no stain. Then she grew out of it.

Here’s what we tried

METHOD 1

Prewash Spray:

1/2 cup ammonia

1/2 cup dish soap (like Dawn)

1/2 cup water

Mix these ingredients in a spray bottle, spray on your muddy and stained white clothes, then wash in your washing machine with regular detergent.

METHOD 2

3 Tablespoons baking soda

1/2 Tablespoon water

1/2 Tablespoon hydrogen peroxide

Make into a paste and spread on the fabric with a toothbrush. Let sit in sun or for several hours then wash as usual.

METHOD 3

Soak in OxyClean White Revive then wash as usual.

Make a paste. Then scrub on the stain with a toothbrush. Let sit for several hours, in the sun if possible.
