Installing house wraps around open window holes | Construction Pro TipsThe handyman’s family

Do not cut the hole to open the window

The way we treated window openings was to wrap plastic film over them, cut them, and then run down the wall. It’s fast, but there is much better.

Once the opening is covered, use a utility knife to cut a straight line up and down the center. Next, cut the fabric covering the house at the top and bottom of the opening, creating two flaps. Wrap the flaps to the inside of the building, through the ram studs, before cutting off the excess. At the top, cut a corner a few centimeters and secure the cover with a piece of tape (this will be folded and reattached once the window is installed).

The opening is now ready for a rotating blink and a window. This method should meet the requirements of most window manufacturers, and best of all, testers will be satisfied.
